The Cubs
We have 25 Cubs at present, who all enjoy a wide variety of activities.
2002 has seen a change in uniform and the program for all the scout sections. The new Cub program encourages the boys to take part in a wide variety of activities from different zones
- Outdoor Scouting
- Fitness zone
- Discovering the world around you
- Creative Zone
- Beliefs and Attitudes
- Caring and Community
- Global Zone
And by taking part in these activities the boys receive joining in awards.
Pack nights have included gardening, a senses night, fire lighting, visits to Jerusalem farm, Shibden park and the art gallery at the Piece Hall in Halifax, making pancakes over candles, traditional Scouting skills, games evenings and joint meetings with the Beavers.
The Cubs are all very keen to earn proficiency badges, and have worked towards their cyclist badge, communicator, art, hobbies and collectors, and the new creative challenge.
The Pack has taken part in several District events. The boys attended the District Cub Football Competition in September, which they won. They also took part in the Swimming gala, winning again for the fifth year. The boys also joined Cubs from all over the district at the district camp at Baildon. A very tiring but successful weekend.
In June a number of the Cubs joined the rest of the group on a float in the Halifax Charity Gala.
We would like to thank all leaders, parents, friends, the group executive and the church for their continued and valued support.
